Bayle Museum loans WWI artefacts to Our Lady & St Peters

Children at Our Lady and St Peter RC Primary Academy have recently been taking part in lessons on the subject of WWI.  The Bayle Museum provided a loan box consisting of several original artefacts and a selection of replica items to enhance the lessons.  The school were also given an information pack detailing the history of two local servicemen, Major J. B. Purvis and Pte Herbert Vere Weissenborn, whose service medals are now within the Bayle Museum Collection.

Class Teacher, Rebecca Hilman said, “The children were thoroughly absorbed in their lesson. You had clearly put a lot of care and thought into curating our request and the personal items were excellent.”
